John Hancock is a well-known energy utilities consultant and commentator. He has chaired two Electricity Authority advisory groups and was a member of the Expert Advisory Group for the 2018 Government Electricity Price Review.
Much of his work draws on his unusual combination of deep experience in both technology and deregulation - key dimensions of the strategic environment in the sector.
Based in New Zealand since 1998, John has worked in the sector around the world for nearly 40 years. His weekly blog on Energy News usually comes out on Friday.
